18 Weeks

Hello again everybody. It's Laurence, everyone's favorite little baby girl from Arizona. I'm 18-weeks old now. I'm 23 inches long and weigh 13 pounds. My aunt Natalee says that's too small but daddy says she's just jealous because she gave birth to gargantuan babies and secretly loves that I'm still baby-size. Whatever, I think I'm just right.

It's my daddy's birthday tomorrow and I wanted to give him a thoughtful present so I uploaded some cute photos of myself. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!

I like flowers and dresses. I especially like flowery dresses.

Don't you just love how your skin feels after a hot bath and a good lotioning? Me too.

Every once in a while Dylan will convince me to watch Sponge Bob Squarepants with him. I don't think I've ever seen Dylan with a shirt on. Mommy is right, boys are weird.

We all went up to Flagstaff over Labor Day weekend. While there we went to the state fair where we saw lots of cute animals. My favorite was the miniature pony.

By the end of the day I couldn't wait to get out of my sling.

Grandpa Jerry and Grandma Nellie are a so goofy sometimes.

While at the fair, daddy tried to win mommy and me a big stuffed bear by breaking two bottles with three baseball throws. Daddy could only break one and I could tell the game was rigged from the start. He paid $5.00 too, what a rip-off.

Sometimes I get so tired I can sleep sitting up.

I like to stay warm when I'm in Flagstaff so I prefer this outfit.

My aunt Heidi picked out this super-cute shirt and skirt. It's perfect for those hot summer days.

Mommy says my eyes look like blueberries!!??

Mommy and daddy wanted another photo of me in the dress I wore to their wedding. It's so pretty I couldn't say no.

This is my pin-up pose. Check out my sexy legs.

Mommy made me pose with all of this University of Nebraska stuff. Doesn't she know that I'm an ASU fan? Go Sun Devils!!!

I love my new play-saucer. It has all kinds of fun toys on it...like this colorful dial. Each colored wheel makes a different noise when you spin it. I like the blue and green ones best. Don't touch the yellow one though, it's too loud and makes me cry.

That's right, I can stand all by myself!!

"It ain't easy being green".

See that bright mushroom-looking thing on the right? If I touch one of those animal buttons it makes an animal sound...cool huh?

Every night before bed I update daddy on the latest celebrity gossip. I knew the John Mayer - Jessica Simpson thing wouldn't last.

The Wedding. August 19, 2006.

A wedding 10-years in the making finally took place on ASU campus August 19th. Like any wedding, the planning is always full of worry but in the end everything turned out beautifully. The weather was sunny and clear (although it was 105 degrees), the chapel seated just the right amount of people, Melinda's dress looked perfect, the flowers remained fresh and baby Laurence was an absolute angel.

Many, many thanks to Jerry, Nellie, Monica and Steve for helping us with the planning and execution. Thanks to Phil and Carl for playing the roles of photographer, brides maid and witness. Thanks as well to family and friends for attending and joining us in celebration. We had a wonderful time and couldn't have asked for a more memorable wedding and reception.

Much love,

Britt & Melinda

Pre-wedding ceremony feeding. A mother's work is never done.

This photo was taken just minutes after Laurence's release from a locked dressing room, pre-wedding ceremony.

She's not going to leave me standing at the altar, is she?

Don't stick me, Mom.

This was a WOW moment. "Rose Parade" was being played by Aaron on guitar. All our guests inside the chapel waiting for the the bride to appear. Suddenly, the chapel doors opened and in stepped Melinda, escorted by her father, looking absolutely stunning and smiling from ear-to-ear.

If you cut Britt out of this photo it would look REALLY creepy.

Melinda handing her bouquet to Nellie.

The happiest groom on Earth.

The "hands ceremony".

You'd have to be insane not to want to make vows to such a gorgeous bride. Luckily I remembered the wedding ring.

Do we look happy?

Where's George and Ringo?

Arizona State University campus. 6:35 PM. 105 degrees. I still can't believe how well this photo turned out.

Eat your heart out Gustav Klimt. This is "The Kiss".

Fabulous.

If we were a 1970's musical sensation, this would be our album cover.

Have you ever seen those plastic bride and groom pieces people put on wedding cakes? This is our impersonation of one.

Ladies and gentlemen, please put your hands together for the world's MOST beautiful bride.

Just through these doors is where the magic first happened (when we first met) exactly ten-years earlier.

Even after all this time, we're still clowning around at Channel 8.

While waiting for the reception to begin the new couple found time for a staring contest. Melinda won...again.

On the steps of the University Club.

The new couple patiently waits to make their big reception entrance.

"And then, the chapel doors opened..." Melinda spins a yarn for aunt Linda and company.

Nellie looks on as Laurence enjoys her pacifier.

The food was great. Luckily we were starving.

The couple didn't fare too well playing the Newlywed Game. "What we have here, is a failure to communicate".

Father/Daughter dance to Tony Bennett's "I Left My Heart In San Francisco".

Mother/Son dance to The Beatles' "In My Life".

Our first dance as husband and wife was to the Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World". Some of you know that the same song was being played during Britt's proposal to Melinda on the Charles Bridge in Prague. We couldn't book the gypsy jazz band but our DJ did his best.

Laurence wanted to dance with both Mommy and Daddy.
